This document is intended to set out our privacy policy and describe why and how we collect, use and disclose personal information that you choose to provide to us. This policy does not apply to anyone who is not under our control or management, such as the operators of other websites that you might link to from our website. You are in control of the information you provide to TreKnowledge Inc. This includes controlling the use of information you provide to TreKnowledge. We respect and will continue to respect the privacy of our customers who use TreKnowledge services.

What Information Do We Collect and How is it Used?

Consumer Information

We may use consumer information for the purposes of: (i) allowing us to contact you for customer service if necessary; (ii) to customize the content of our site to meet your specific needs; (iii) to make product improvements to TreKnowledge services; (iv) to ask if you would like to participate in our newsletter or other promotional campaigns. We use credit card information solely for the purposes of guaranteeing reservations and/or bookings in order to complete your transaction(s) that you have requested including, but not limited to, reservations that may be sent directly to the suppliers of the products which you are purchasing, we do not share personal credit card information with third parties for any other purpose.

Publications

When you request a publication you will be required to provide your name, address, phone number and e-mail address for the purposes of sending you the publication(s) of your choice. This information will be on a list for future mailing of tourism publications or you may be contacted for research and customer satisfaction surveys.

Contests

TreKnowledge may run on-line contests on behalf of third parties which give participants an opportunity to win prizes. Information collected by TreKnowledge for such contests can include contact information and survey questions. Contact information is used to notify contest winners and survey information is used to develop promotions and product improvements by TreKnowledge and/or the third parties sponsoring such contest(s).

On-Line Surveys

TreKnowledge values opinions and comments from consumers, so we frequently conduct online surveys. These surveys are entirely optional. Typically, the information is aggregated and used to make improvements to TreKnowledge and to develop appealing content, features and promotions for members. Survey participants are anonymous unless otherwise stated in the survey.

Who will the information be shared with, if anyone?

We do not sell individual customer names or other private profile information to third parties and have no intention of doing so in the future. We may hire a third party to act on our behalf for projects such as market research surveys and contest entry processing and will provide information to these third parties specifically for use in connection with these projects. The information we provide to such third parties is protected by a confidentiality agreement and is to be used solely for completing the specific project.

Operator Information

TreKnowledge reserves the right to use operator information provided to us by the operator for the following purposes: (i) updating TreKnowledge' websites, (ii) republishing information on or through third party websites or other through channels, (iii) marketing, (iv) research and evaluation, (v) mailing lists and other marketing activities.

TreKnowledge works with a network of partner or affiliate sites including the site from which you linked to view information and/or to make a reservation as well as other sites that are or may become a part of a network that increases an operator's exposure by having their information published through multiple sites. Operators are responsible for the information that is provided to TreKnowledge relating to their establishment(s) being correct and complete. TreKnowledge reserves the right to edit copy and ensure that content adheres to TreKnowledge guidelines.

What other information should I know about my privacy?

TreKnowledge takes certain safeguards to protect the loss, misuse or alternation of your information you provide to TreKnowledge. All information you provide is transmitted using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption. SSL is a proven coding system that lets your browser automatically encrypt, or scramble, data before you send it to us. When TreKnowledge receives your information, our system unencrypts the information.

TreKnowledge's site may contain links to other web sites. Please note that when you click on one of these links, you are entering another Web site for which TreKnowledge has no responsibility. We encourage you to read the privacy statements of all such sites as their policies may be materially different from TreKnowledge's Privacy Statement. Of course, you are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your passwords and any account information. Please be very careful, responsible, and alert with this information, especially whenever you're online.

Our site uses "cookies" which are small files containing pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your computer's hard drive. Our cookies may contain information such as your user ID that our website uses to recognize you. Our cookies can't read data off your hard disk or read cookie files created by other sites. The only personal information our cookies contain is the information you provide yourself when you enter personal information on our website, your personal information will be linked to the cookie we save on your computer.
